It is every genealogist's dream to trace their family as far back as they can go. Then they hit a brick wall. Sometimes that brick wall is just that, a brick wall. However, there always lies the hope that someone out there might have that hammer to smash through it, only to be faced with the next one.
Our mission is to gather as many of oursutherlands together in one place to form that hammer.
This site is also a place for sharing with others the paths we have followed in travelling back to meet our ancestors. To share and further the knowledge of those setting off in search of their ancestral heritage, whoever and wherever it may be, for their quests and the hurdles they face are the same as ours.
In finding the past, our search is for the present. To bring together all the descendants of one Sutherland family from Orkney.
