Ploughman
BIRTH: 11 July 1829 The eldest son and second child of Robert Sutherland and Christiana ("Chrissie") Anderson born in Longhope, Walls and Flotta, Orkney, Scotland.
MARRIAGE: 7 December 1856 He married Barbara Gunn, daughter of Donald and Isabella Gunn, in Halkirk, Caithness. At the time his residence was noted as Lythmore, Thurso and hers at Sixpenny Farm, Halkirk. Both were twentysix years of age at the time of their wedding after banns according to the forms of the Established Church of Scotland
DEATH: 6 December 1905 Thomas died at Melness Farm, Tongue, Sutherland as a result of throat cancer, he was 76 years of age. He was to be survived by his wife for a further ten years.
